I possess substantial post qualification experience of providing counselling services to clients and am fully confident in my ability to use a wide range of counselling approaches to suit different client needs. My aim is to provide an environment that is deeply respectful and free of judgement to help you gain awareness and insight in to your difficulties and get back on track. Biography
Lucy kiathe is an associate counsellor with Kenya Counselling and Psychology Association (KCPA). She has a vast experience working as a counsellor in a multicultural setting. Before joining CareNetworks, Lucy had worked as Outreach & Short Courses Coordinator and a trainer at Amani Counselling Centre. During this time, she has planned seminars and workshops to meet societal needs especially pertaining the marriage, children and family therapies. She has closely worked with the Baptist Church (Parklands, Embakasi and Valley Road), Methodist churches (Kikuyu & Charles New) and NPC Woodley as well as in couple forums. She has also worked closely with The Kenya Red Cross Society and various INGO’s in Dadaab and Kakuma refugee camps on trauma based issues. She has been supporting humanitarian aid workers working in South Sudan, DRC and Somalia for the past ten years. As Outreach Coordinator, Lucy also worked very closely with corporate clients, mission organizations and government bodies tailor making short courses seminars and workshops focusing on staff wellness. Lucy is a TVET acknowledged trainer. Clientele served and Therapy Philosophy / Approach.
Lucy provides counseling for individuals, couples, and child and adolescents experiencing relationship problems, loss and grief, stress caused by life experiences or a traumatic incidence as well as personal development issues. In addition, she provides individual and group therapy for persons and groups seeking help related to the lived-experiences. She also works with adolescents to help them develop an integrated sense of self. With children, she focuses on play and art therapy. She also works with moderately depressed clients.
